Design & Heritage Research Group
Led by Professor Pat Sterry, this group reflects research interests and curriculum delivery in 6 distinct areas of design and heritage:
- An exploration of the contemporary formation, interpretation and presentation of heritage as creative spaces and designed environments (includes exhibition spaces, museums, galleries, arts and cultural centres)
- An engagement with visitors and users of designed heritage environments (to inform design decision making)
- Issues concerning the management and marketing of heritage
- Designing for heritage environments (including the use of graphic design, interactive technology, virtual representations of heritage)
- The context of heritage as a catalyst for urban regeneration and reconstruction whereby both design practice and theoretical issues merge
- Leading inter- disciplinary activity with other research groups
