In 2004 the School of Media, Music and Performance were awarded an ESF grant to investigate the representation of ethnic minorities in the media. Over the next two years several public meetings were held in which representatives from the media and BME communities came together to discuss how they felt about working in the media. Two research assistants Katherine Davies and Nazia Awan were employed to conduct interviewees with the 50 or so who chose to take part. 'If Your Face Don't Fit' is the result of this work.
